The Sims 4: Get Together is the second expansion pack ever released for The Sims 4, arriving as the game’s second major paid DLC after the debut expansion, Get to Work. Developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, Get Together launched in North America on December 8, 2015, and in Europe the following day, December 9, 2015. Coming a little over a year after The Sims 4’s original 2014 release, it was one of the first expansions to prove that Maxis intended to keep building out the base game with major new systems, and it set the tone for the social-gameplay expansions that would follow later in the series. It draws inspiration from earlier Sims titles, including The Sims: Hot Date, The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims 2: FreeTime, and The Sims 3: Late Night.

Get Together’s central theme is bringing Sims together through social activities, nightlife, and community. The expansion introduced several headline features that reshaped how players approached socializing in The Sims 4.

The pack’s new world, Windenburg, is a Northern European–inspired village drawing visual cues from Germany and Norway. It’s built around 27 lots spread across a mix of coastal bluffs, an island, classical architecture, and countryside scenery. Notable spots include a hedge-maze mansion, natural pools carved into the landscape, and ancient ruins that Sims can explore or build on. Unlike some other Sims 4 worlds, Windenburg doesn’t hide a secret lot, but it makes up for that with a wide variety of unique, atmospheric locations for Sims to hang out in.

Clubs are the defining addition of Get Together, giving the expansion its name much like the career system did for Get to Work. Players can form a club of up to eight Sims, appoint a leader, and fully customize it:
The system works similarly to the social groups seen in The Sims 3: University Life, and because it hooks into skills and careers from other packs, clubs can be built around almost any interest — painting circles, gardening groups, secret societies, or full-blown party crews.
Two new skills round out the social gameplay:
Get Together introduces two new venue types. Nightclubs come equipped with bartenders and DJs, and Windenburg’s own club hosts themed nights — Happy Hour, Ladies’ Night, Singles’ Night, and even crossover nights tied to other packs, like Alien Night (Get to Work) or Bear’s Night (Outdoor Retreat). Cafés, meanwhile, give Sims a laid-back spot to grab coffee and chat, functioning much like a casual restaurant, even though players can’t personally own or run one.
The expansion adds more than 200 new build and buy items, ranging from European-inspired décor to modern nightclub fixtures like laser lights. Other smaller but memorable additions include:
Get Together’s 355 new items lean heavily into European café aesthetics and nightclub fixtures — think laser lights, DJ booths, cobblestone-style flooring, and natural pool decor

Get Together’s 113 new Create-a-Sim items lean into the pack’s European nightlife theme, adding party-ready outfits, dance-floor makeup and hairstyles, and casual café-appropriate fashion for Sims of all ages. From club-hopping looks to cozy Windenburg streetwear, the collection gives players plenty of options to dress their Sims for a night out or a laid-back coffee date.

On Metacritic, The Sims 4: Get Together received generally positive marks from critics, who praised the depth of the club system and the atmosphere of Windenburg, while some reviewers felt the feature set leaned heavily on repeating ideas from earlier Sims expansions. Even so, the Clubs system in particular is often remembered as one of the more ambitious social features added to The Sims 4, and it laid groundwork that later packs would continue to build on.
For players who enjoy story-driven, socially rich gameplay — building friend groups, running clubs with their own identity, or turning their Sims’ nights out into elaborate parties — Get Together remains one of the more distinctive expansions in The Sims 4 lineup. Its combination of a strongly themed new world, a flexible club system, and dedicated nightlife venues makes it a solid pick for anyone looking to deepen the social side of their game.
